When I tell you this suit makes me feel like a BOSS!!

Glen Plaid Pants suits are super hot this season and when I laid eyes on this one I thought why not give it a try. I usually gravitate away from suits because they can be uncomfortable, frustrating to find a good fit and quite frankly my patience wears completely out. But this high quality suit from the RACHEL ROY COLLECTION is super comfy and screams sophistication. My measurements are so drastic between my upper and lower body, but this collection offers different sizes instead of being stuck with a one size only option. It’s definitely a splurge purchase but one you will get a ton of wear out of.

I kept the suit office chic pairing it with a white tee and purple suede pumps.

Each piece can be worn separately to create other looks. I’m looking forward to styling the blazer with ripped denim jeans - my fave! The pants are versatile too. I plan to style them with an oversized knit sweater for Fall. How super chic will that be!

You can shop the full collection online or in store at Nordstrom.

When I heard Style Goddess Tracee Ellis Ross was dropping a clothing line in JCPenney I literally SCREAMED! She has been my fave since discovering her as Joan, the quarky, sophisticated, high powered stylish attorney (I wanted to be) on the hit TV show Girlfriends. She's always been true to her style... classic, sophisticated and sexy. Her approach to style is easy, effortless and stays true to over sized silhouettes which mirror the iconic style of her mother, THE QUEEN, Diana Ross.

Although I visited the website when the collection launched, I decided to visit my local JCPenney to try on the collection. Everything fit true to size... A huge sigh of relief! They literally had every piece in plus size in the store. I tried on everything. The jumpsuit stood out to me the most. It's black... I know. However, I couldn't deny how classic, timeless and flattering it looked on my figure and it has pockets (I'm dead!). As a plus size girl with big hips and thighs, I was relieved that the pants actually fit. It's literally a dream wrapped up in a jumpsuit, perfect for a holiday party or any occasion for that matter.

This look screams JOAN CLAYTON! I had to have it! I purchased a size 1X but would encourage sizing up if you are larger in the hips and butt. The sash is the perfect touch because it brings in the waist to show the curves. I'm all about showing off the curves! The material is flowy, breatheable and very comfortable.

I paired the jumpsuit with a gold and black striped blazer, gold ball drop earrings and a gold sparkly peep toe pump, reminiscent of Tracee Ellis Ross's style. And of course her favorite lip color, Ruby Woo by MAC Cosmetics.

If you're looking for a classic black jumpsuit that can be worn dress or casual, this one is for you! Seriously, I am in LOVE!

Welcome back! I took an unexpected week off from posting last week. Ya know, life happens (sigh) but it goes on so, I am back! Yay!

I am a huge fan of staple pieces!

Seriously, hats, jackets, t-shirts, comfortable denim and neutral color shoes. Having these pieces will take you a long way giving you unlimited wearable options. I know what you're thinking, you look ridiculous in hats, but I promise there is a hat style and size that fits your head. Trust me. Coming from a girl with a big head and even bigger hair. I purchased this hat and jacket at Forever 21 last year and they have held up well. The ruffle top was on sale at Lane Bryant earlier in the summer and the denim jeans were a sale find at a Macy's One Day Sale (Ha! Yes, they still have those). I live for a sale in case you couldn't tell!

Staple pieces also transition well throughout seasons. For example, a tee shirt can be worn over a turtleneck for a layered look in the winter months and a hat can instantly elevate the most basic airport attire when traveling.

In the photos I am wearing a white tee with ruffles. I love this top! It softens the look of this otherwise more edgy outfit. It transitions from work to play which I go for when choosing transition items to layer.

Fall is here! It's finally in the 70's! Yay!!  I'm so excited in case you can't tell.

When I saw this skirt and blouse, I knew I had to have them. Both pieces remind me to be bold, live out loud and most importantly, live life unapologetic.

After turning 30, I began focusing more on my personal development and life purpose and less about people pleasing (something most of us dealt with in our 20's). I became okay with knowing that perfection doesn't exist, mistakes are inevitable, nothing is promised and life is what you make of it.

It became important for me to transition these life lessons into my personal style. It sometimes takes courage to step out of your comfort zone and wear a piece you typically wouldn't wear. To some, wearing a sheer blouse isn't risky but to me, it's stepping out of my comfort zone, especially as a plus size woman. Yes mom, my bra is showing! I felt so sexy and confident in this piece.

I recently saw Gabifresh ( worn here) and Ashley ( worn here) rocking a sheer top and I was instantly inspired. One of my best girlfriends recently wore a sheer black top for her birthday which I admired!

To fit my style, I paired it with a red faux leather pleated skirt, fur vest and gold ball earrings. And of course, the cat eye sunglasses were a perfect match.

Go for it! Wear something different and unusual. Put your own spin on it to make you feel comfortable and don't worry about what others think. Just do you!

wide calf boots

Clearly I have Fall on my mind but as I'm typing this post it is 90 degrees in Atlanta! Fall, where are you?!

What I love most about Fall, besides the cooler temperatures, is the fact that it is boot season! Until a few years ago, finding over the knee boots to fit my wide calves was a huge challenge. Retailers weren't catering to women who had calves larger than the average woman. I appreciate the plus community advocating for retailers to recognize the need and finally they began to listen. I find myself gravitating to an over the knee boot more often because they are super sexy, gives a sleek silhouette and elongates the body.

Here are my top 5 tips to choosing the perfect boot for wide calves:

1. Always Measure Your Calf --  This is extremely important especially when shopping online! If you don't have a tape measure, most stores can measure your calf for you.

2. Know Where to Shop --  Familiarize yourself with stores that sell wide calf boots. Torrid and Lane Bryant have great choices in store and online. They are my personal fave.

3. Look for Elastic -- Whether you are looking for a structured leather or suede boot, look for the boot to have elastic. This will give you more stretch for comfort.

4. Size Up -- This has been a go-to for me! Yes, the boot maybe a tad bit longer in length but sizing up gives me more room at the calf.

5. Find a Shoe Tailor or Repair Shop -- Finding a local shoe tailor is essential! They create magic when it comes to repairing shoes. They can add more material to boots to make them fit custom to your calf. A quick google search can locate one near you!
